Client Overview

WNBA Team aiming to boost fan engagement, promote DEI, and grow in a competitive urban market, playing in a downtown arena.

The Challenge

The client approached APEX Consulting to address three core marketing challenges: (1) increasing ticket sales, (2) encouraging earlier fan arrival at games, and (3) broadening general brand awareness. Despite a championship-winning season and high-profile new athletes, the franchise struggled to convert interest into full attendance or repeat engagement, particularly among younger and first-time fans.

Our Approach

APEX deployed a comprehensive fan acquisition and retention strategy across multiple marketing channels. The team analyzed internal ticketing and demographic reports, conducted survey-based market research, and developed Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs) to design tailored initiatives. APEX then evaluated the feasibility, cost, and ROI of over ten marketing tactics and provided the client with a toolkit for immediate implementation.
